Everyone is different

Everyone is different, so we make sure to offer a range of different activities for all tastes and this can also include educational activities if this is something they are wishing to pursue.

In house-group activities are done weekly. Activities are open to all of our residents, but we understand that not everyone enjoys group activities so we always seek to find balance.

We don’t just confine our activities to the home. We also encourage and support clients to get involved with local activities that they are passionate about. Where possible, we also organise trips out for residents. This could include a local attraction, a day at the beach with fish and chips amongst other things. Our staff are experienced at organising trips out and creating activities that your loved one will enjoy. Furthermore, our clients are welcome to join holiday excursions.

In acknowledgment of our diverse society, our homes actively participate in various cultural celebrations, including Diwali, Christmas, Easter, and other significant cultural events.

Activities

Activities play a pivotal role in mental health care homes, offering substantial benefits to clients’ overall well-being.
Engaging in various activities provides a sense of purpose, structure, and routine, crucial elements for individuals navigating mental health challenges.
These activities serve as therapeutic tools, fostering social interaction, reducing feelings of isolation, enhancing self-esteem, improving confidence and emotional support.
  • We hold art classes
  • Pottery exploration
  • Photography
  • Therapeutic groups in the Supported Accommodation units where our in-house counsellor can support emotional awareness and connection. This provides clients with the opportunity to self actualise in their lives. We find that exposure to therapeutic group meetings helps our clients to recognise that change is possible for them.
  • We do outings for our Supported Clients as well to the movies, meals, galleries
  • Annual Holiday, where we take our clients away for a 1 week summer break (self funded)
  • Affirmation groups
  • Plastering opportunities
  • Podcasting
We take our activities very seriously at Randall Care and Support. Quality of life, connectedness, self development and rehabilitation are at the heart of what we offer all of our clients. We like to create chances to engage in creative endeavours that are not ordinarily available to people with Mental Health Challenges.

Occupational Therapy

Our in-house psychologist and therapeutic client co-ordinator have created an occupational approach to work with both our Residential Care and Supported Accommodation Clients. This approach helps to develop basic skills around:
  • Personal care
  • Oral hygiene
  • Food preparation
  • Exercise
  • Cleaning
  • Socialising
This approach aims to improve our clients ability to do everyday tasks, gain confidence and improve their chances of success towards future independence.
